Introduction

We are working hard behind the scenes—with the support of incredible volunteers and ambassadors around the world—to raise the funds we need to complete our global platform and support our growing community of members. From event delivery and sponsorship outreach to book publishing and speaker coordination, the dedication of our team is helping us build momentum and bring our mission to life.

Ambassador Highlights

We are proud to highlight the work of Dr. Taisiia Mukii, who presented her research poster at the Oxford University Department for Continuing Education Ethics Colloquium on 13th June. Her research explored the ethical dimensions of AI in lifelong learning and was selected from a highly competitive field. Taisiia represented the Women in STEM Network with distinction and continues to drive forward our mission through both her leadership and her advocacy.

In June, Dr. Shara Cohen attended Parliamentary Links Day at Westminster, the UK’s largest annual parliamentary science event. The programme brought together leading scientists, policymakers, and MPs to discuss issues including funding, open science, and diversity in STEM. Dr. Cohen represented the Women in STEM Network among thought leaders and changemakers.

Membership Growth

We are welcoming approximately 50 new paid members every month from across the world. This consistent growth shows strong engagement but still falls short of covering our platform development costs. To address this, we are scaling our fundraising efforts through sponsorship, grants, and crowdfunding.

Ukrainian Women in STEM Webinar Series – Launching September

Led by our ambassador Dr. Taisiia Mukii, we are launching a new webinar series titled Career and Culture Support for Ukrainian Women in the UK. These monthly events will begin in September and focus on career development, cultural adaptation, navigating professional life in the UK, and building a sense of community. The series is designed specifically for Ukrainian women displaced by conflict, offering both practical support and peer-led guidance to empower their journeys in STEM.

New Book Series Launched

We’re proud to announce the launch of our new book series to help raise awareness and funds for our mission.

The first title is now available: Soft Power: Essential Skills for Women Thriving in STEM: Building Confidence, Influence, and Leadership in STEM Careers

Proceeds from the series directly support the Women in STEM platform and programmes.
